Allied Health Science
Abby Davidson, a first-generation student and an allied health science major from Ashland, 威斯康辛州, got involved right away when she came to Carthage. “Campus involvement is so important to me, I have made so many amazing memories in organizations here at Carthage,”她说。. “I hope to continue being involved while pursuing the education of my dreams.”
“I had the awesome opportunity of doing a work-study in the athletic training facility. This has been such an amazing experience and has given me a chance to connect with the incredible athletic trainers here on campus.”
“After I get my bachelor’s degree, I plan to obtain a Master of 艺术 in Athletic Training through the 3 + 2项目 here at Carthage. I hope to become a certified athletic trainer at the college level.”
How have Carthage faculty had an impact on your life or Carthage career?
“Carthage faculty have encouraged me to pursue the 3+2 Athletic Training Program to ensure future success in my career. I am very optimistic that the faculty will continue to help me in my future endeavors, wherever I may go.”
“My favorite class at Carthage so far has been Introduction to Psychology because I feel I have learned a lot about myself and how I can be a better athletic trainer during this course. The class teaches many diverse ideas, I am excited to take other 心理学 classes in the future.”
“My toughest class at Carthage so far would have to be Human Anatomy and Physiology for the Health Professional. This class equips you with so much information, I am glad to have had an awesome teacher! Everything you learn in this class is important, so you must retain all the information and ask questions when you have trouble.”
“I am a part of the women’s tennis team, the president and founder of the Native American Student Association. I am also a member of the Black Student Union, United Women of Color, Athletic Training Club, First Generation Club. Additionally, I am a member of the Carthage Pep Band and the 爵士乐团. Campus involvement is so important to me, I have made so many amazing memories in organizations here at Carthage. I hope to continue being involved while pursuing the education of my dreams.”

Favorite moments and memories at Carthage
“Some of my favorite moments and memories have been going to the events and activities offered at Carthage with my friends. I love going to trivia, bingo, the Kick-off Carnival, performances, so much more.”
Biggest surprise so far
“The biggest surprise has been how easy it is to get involved in everything and how supportive the community is.”
What would your 8-year-old self think of you now?
“My 8-year-old self would be excited that I get to pursue a career that highlights my love for athletics and helping others. I grew up playing and always being around sports. I also dreamed of doing something pertaining to healthcare, so I believe my 8-year-old self would be so happy!”
Why should other students consider your major? What advice do you have for them?
“Other students should consider allied health science as a major because it opens doors to many diverse opportunities after Carthage. It prepares students to obtain any career in healthcare that they want.
“Take every opportunity offered here and ask as many questions as you can. The faculty at Carthage want you to be successful in whatever you choose for your future.”
